Our next work of literature is the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. We will be reading this in class for the next 3-4 weeks.

This unit spans the literary time between Native American myths and legends and the arrival of Christopher and other explorers. Most of the readings are found in the textbook, and those excerpts cannot be posted. The articles that I can post can be found here.
If you want to make corrections to your 12-sentence paragraph, look at the PowerPoint below. You have until October 26 to do this, but the sooner you make the corrections, the sooner your grade will change.
Here are the resources we used for revising the personal narrative. Remember, you will be in the computer lab September 26 to make the corrections you need to make. Your narrative needs to be in by September 28.

We started The Painted Drum this week. The introductory PowerPoint with the notes on the author and on the literary elements and the reading guide are both posted here.
Wednesday's multiple choice quiz will cover the readings, video clips, and vocabulary from the summer homework packet. Thursday's essay will cover the readings and video clips from the packet.
It's hard to believe that school starts on Monday, so I hope you are enjoying your last days of summer vacation! Please remember that all parts of the personal narrative and the vocabulary sheets are due on Monday. We'll spend Tuesday talking about summer homework assignments, and on Wednesday and Thursday we will do some assessments of learning. If you have questions, let me know on Monday.
